International University House

In September 2015, the International University House opens its doors in the district of the Peninsula Malraux. This place dedicated to international exchanges will host comfortable and modern accommodation and many services tailored to the needs of students, teachers and researchers from around the world, but also to Unistra audiences wishing to perform international mobility.

The Seegmuller Tower, an old industrial building steeped in the architectural heritage of Strasbourg, has been completely renovated to accommodate this place of life. Located in the booming area of the Malraux Peninsula, in the extension of the central campus and close to the tramway, various cultural venues and shops, the International University House is perfectly integrated into the city.

Furnished and equipped studios

The International University House comprises 170 modern, functional and comfortable studios. The size of these studios ranges from 18.5m² to 40m² and half is equipped to accommodate people with reduced mobility. Managed by the Amitel Strasbourg association, this residence offers many services: reception 7 days a week, catering, WIFI Internet network, laundromat, gym, music room, bike rental ... The majority of the accommodations are open to the public. personalized housing assistance (APL).

The international reception service of the University

This infrastructure also integrates services useful for all foreign university audiences. At the first level of the building, the international reception center of the University of Strasbourg offers personalized support for administrative procedures related to their stay in France. This reception service also includes administration offices which are useful for the installation and offers courses in French as a foreign language.

This building also houses the Strasbourg Euraxess Service Center, which offers personalized and free assistance to international researchers and their families.

Thought to be a crossroads of intercultural encounters, the International University House is also the place of reference for students and staff of Unistra who wish to go on international mobility. They will be able to find out about the different exchange programs, funding and departure procedures.

Infrastructure supported by 6 public partners

The rehabilitation of the building was financed in the context of the Campus Operation by the Company of development and equipment of the Region of Strasbourg (10 M €) whose city is the main shareholder, the Department of Bas-Rhin ( € 2.5 million), the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg (€ 1.5 million), the Alsace Region (€ 1.5 million) and the University of Strasbourg (€ 1.5 million).
